Lynn Hershman Leeson
Bay Area artist Lynn Hershman Leeson has pushed boundaries in a variety of media, including performance, photography, video, installation, and feature film. In 2014 the ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Germany, mounted the first comprehensive retrospective of Leeson’s four-decade career—one of numerous exhibitions devoted to her work at prominent museums over the years. The artist’s films have won awards on the major festival circuit, and her work is featured in celebrated collections, including those of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Tate Modern. Leeson is represented in New York by Bridget Donahue and in San Francisco by Anglim Gilbert Gallery. She is a current member of Minnesota Street Project’s Studio Program.
