Nationally in-demand photographer and photojournalist Aaron Wojack is known for his powerful portraits and documentary work. For his Holy Water edition, inspired by Joan Didion’s eponymous 1977 essay about the politics of water distribution in California, the San Francisco-based artist created six photographic images that illustrate the unique relationship between people and landscape in the Golden State. “The infrastructure of water in California is absurd and complicated like good science fiction, but very real,” he says. Three individually framed, double-sided prints are designed as a box set and come nested in a handsome plexiglass case designed by Wojack.
